to paint light

This isn’t because something is ripening in me to write. It’s because i’m in one of those Awkward Ten Minutes Before Leaving Without Something Pertinent To Do pieces of life.

Responsibility has shifted from children to doggies, which provides me with a lot more time to do things like paint and write and read and make important phone calls. Painting light isn’t as hard as it sounds, if that’s what you start with all over the canvas and then paint the dark to enclose it, remembering shadows and highlights. At least that’s what my amateurness discovered yesterday (with a modicum of success).

Maybe my heart has found hope.
